The City Of West Hollywood and City National Bank Announce Returning Support for Festival 2020!

The City of West Hollywood has confirmed it will return for the second year of its 2019-2020 grant award cycle to the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival. This award is specifically granted for residents of the City of West Hollywood and neighboring communities. This marks 9 years of grants awards from the City of West Hollywood. Performance dates are TBA and slated for May, 2020.
Also announced to return for 2020 is City National Bank (CNB), a longtime Official Sponsor since 2011. CNB will again support LAWTF's Annual Festival and has also invited selected Festival artists to perform for City National Bank's Women's History Program in March, 2020.
Other 2020 longtime government grantors named in our previous newsletter include the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the Department of Cultural Affairs, LA.

LAWTF Brought Cheer To Our Annual Holiday Wine Down Wednesday Celebration On December 18th!

LAWTF celebrated the holidays during our Annual Wine Down Wednesday Potluck on December 18th at the home of Co-Founder Adilah Barnes in North Hollywood.
LAWTF attracted some 50 guests this December. Our jam-packed home gathering brought together a diverse and lively group of supporters that included LAWTF Board of Directors, Advisory Board members, donors, performers, volunteers and their guests.
Attendees joined in Christian and Jewish traditional holiday songs led by Cynthia Delgado, Kamakshi Hart, and Sky Palkowitz. Guests also enjoyed a delicious spread of potluck offerings and participated in LAWTF's exciting raffle chance drawing of great prizes.
Volunteers for the evening included Michelle Barber, Synthia Hardy, Susy Porter, and Rosemary Thomas. (Many thanks, team!) Many thanks also to all who attended our gathering for an evening of year-end cheer for LAWTF's solo community!
LAWTF Offered Another “Hot Off The Press” Of New Solo Works

LAWTF Presented Its 6th Annual Empowerment Day On October 19th

LAWTF presented our 6th Annual EMPOWERMENT DAY on Saturday, October 19th at Thymele Arts located at 5481 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029. This all-day offering of workshops and panels were tailored for solo artists in attendance to learn more about how to develop, promote and tour their works.

LAWTF is presently receiving nominations for our five 2020 Annual Theatre Awards. We invite you to nominate those you feel worthy for the below.
Award Categories
ETERNITY AWARD Presented to an artist or individual whose lifetime achievements have made a lasting contribution to world of theatre.
INTEGRITY AWARD Presented to an artist or individual who has brought credibility and dignity to her work.
MAVERICK AWARD Presented to an artist or individual whose work has set a high standard of individuality and self-styled creativity.
RAINBOW AWARD Presented to an artist or individual for her diverse contributions in fostering non-traditional and multicultural theatre works.
INFINITY AWARD Presented to an artist who has passed on and leaves behind a legacy that will always be remembered.
A letter stating award nominee name, category, and why you feel the artist ought to be considered must also accompany nominations, along with photo and bio.
Nominees must also be available to receive their awards in person and LAWTF must be able to reach nominees or their designates directly.

The deadline for exemplary nominees is: JANUARY 21, 2020
