This panel discussion will cover the professional team needed to make a solo show shine from the director and producer to lighting and sound technicians, from marketing and publicity, to live vs online theatre venues, as we navigate. Participants will also learn how to create a supportive team that will make a dream show a reality.

Fay Hauser-Price (Aka Fay Hauser) - Faye Hauser-Price's stage credits include Twelfth Night, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Purlie, American Heritage, and Jewels In The Crown. Her TV/Film credits include Jordan Peele’sWeird City, Norman Lear's pilot Guess Who Died, Candyman II, Roots II, and The Young and The Restless (Outstanding Cast Emmy). In post-production isBed and BreakfastIndependent feature. New Media credits include The Myth of Control. Directing credits include 5150, Experimental Short winner. Writer/producer/director of Where There’s Smoke..., nominated for Best Short USA in the Katherine Zeta-Jones Festival; aired BET’s Lens on Talent; screened BHERC film cruise, South African Christian Film Festival, and The National Black Theatre Festival. TV Director of Turning Barton Elementary and emerging Artist Showcase on PBS. Producer/Writer of over 25 reality/documentary TV shows including Paris In Search of A Dream, Series Red, Hot and Cool, 24/SEVEN, and Living With Soul (Vision Award Nomination). She is currently producing the documentary, Bethania, feature Surfmen. Fay Hauser-Price is a musical concert producer, published songwriter, and poet.
Lynne Conner's L.A. upbringing and passion for entertainment led her to publicity where she formed Publicity4you out of a need to garner media attention and build audiences through media. A desire to complete her degree channeled Lynne to film school and ultimately producing short films. Lynne’s directorial film debut Raising Kings is currently streaming on African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC) and BHERC.TV. Conner has produced numerous shorts and is currently on the film circuit with Young & Naive (Tuesday Conner) and A Gift for My Sister (Angela M. Gordon), among others. An alum of Inner City Cultural Center, Conner is an active Board Member of the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, where she gained her chops as a publicist and has promoted LAWTF events since 1999. Conner has been a team member of Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC) since 2001, promoting Reel Black Men, Sistas Are Doin’ It For Themselves, and AAFM, as well as many other BHERC events. Denise Dowse, originally from Honolulu and the daughter of a Naval officer, graduated from Norfolk State University. She is best known to television audiences as Vice-Principal Mrs. Teasley in Beverly Hills 90210 but has appeared in other TV shows including The Imposters, Murder in the First, Secrets & Lies, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, Charmed, and The West Wing, as well as films including The Call, Ray, and Coach Carter.
Dowse has also appeared on the LA stage in Three Times a Lady, Sassy Mamas, Darker Face of the Earth, Vagina Monologues, and Othello. As a five-time NAACP Best Director recipient, Dowse began directing in Germany as a theatre specialist and built a program for active-duty military and their families alongside German nationals.
She recently directed Beauty and the Beast and Hairspray for Celebrity Schools and Recorded in Hollywood at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. For 18 years, Denise Dowse was the Resident Director at Amazing Grace Conservatory.
Giselle Fernandez received her degree from theUniversity of Georgia, where she worked in theatre tech for several years before moving to Los Angeles. Fernandez has been working in fringe theatre with lights, sound, and projections for both festivals and regular show runs. Giselle Fernandez joined the LAWTF crew in 2018, and is delighted to meet a wide range of spectacular women, reaffirming her love for theatre and appreciation of spaces empowered by those whose voices are often silenced.
Bryan Rasmussen, the recipient of the 2016Valley Theatre Award for Artistic Director Achievement, is now in his 16th year as Artistic Director of the Whitefire Theatre. His directing credits include the 35th Anniversary production of Sam Shepard's Buried Child, Billie!..backstage with Lady Day, Firehouse, The Bellflower Sessions, Stella's Last Date, and over 150 more plays and shorts. He is currently developing theatre projects with Academy Award winner Bobby Moresco, as well as launching multiple world premieres. He also produces the largest solo theatre festival on the West Coast called Solofest, where over 80 shows to premiere in 90 days. Rasmussen also founded the famous Itchey Foot Cabaret in downtown LA in the 1980s as well as having been a member of the famed South Coast Repertory playing Young Scrooge for 9 years and when they won the Tony Award for Best Regional Theatre in 1985. As an actor, his numerous film and TV credits include 24, Sons Of Anarchy, The Mentalist, and American Horror Story opposite Jessica Lange. He trained at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco after receiving his BA in Theatre from Cal State Long Beach. Bryan Rasmussen is a proud member of the Actors Gym and is honored to be working with friends.
Justin Sandler is a director, actor, drummer, writer, speaker, and cancer survivor. He and wife Mary Lou Sandler own 3 Cubed Studios, LLC. A graduate of Indiana University, he has directed/produced cable TV in Chicago; wrote/directed/produced commercials for ABC and FOX in Palm Springs; and has long been established in Los Angeles working as a professional TV/film actor, as well as a recording/touring musician. His film, Welcome to Where You've Always Been (writer/director/actor/editor/producer), appeared in 21 festivals, won 5 awards, and is now available on Amazon Prime.
The Sandlers are currently developing 2 documentary films, Caregiving Cancer: The Silent Heroes and MANtimacy. Sandler debuted his solo show, Embrace Love Free in 2019, and he’s been inspirationally speaking about his cancer journey, including an appearance atTEDxNormal. He is currently writing his book, Embrace Love Free... Three Steps to Overcome Any Obstacle.
This event is full of career training from industry professionals, designed to give a boost to solo performers, but will also be of value to anyone contemplating online or live theatrical production in Los Angeles or who wishes to tour in these changing times. Attendees will be able to attend 9 informative offerings including an interview with LAWTF's Co-Founder, Workshops and Panels.
